So how did thousands of Vietnamese ladies end up walking around Hoi An with a shirt emblazoned with the words “Weekly Wanker”
Living and working in Hoi An we have seen hundreds of these crop-tops. Having asked a few of the wearers if they know the meaning of “Weekly Wanker” they just shrug.
There is a very funny backstory to how this came about. It all starts with a UK Communist Party masthead.
This masthead got altered by a blog in Scotland to “Weekly Wanker” for their favourite idiot of the week.
The design then got “borrowed” by a streetwear designer in Saigon and put on the front of a crop top that is now a huge seller in Vietnam.

This style had our eyes popping out and also also puts a smile on our faces with each sighting.
